Hi Warfer, when our daughter was working up North she would leave her Navara here and we would take it for a run over to the shops about once every one - two weeks, seemed OK at that, the battery was the biggest problem.
Cheers

I went OS for 12 months a couple of years ago and go someone to drive my car every 2 weeks for at least 30 min and everything was fine when I got back.

Clip one of those $20 LED volt meters across the battery and leave it where you can see it easily.
If the voltage gets down, charge it before trying to start it.
Better (but more expensive) is to put it on a smart charger that will maintain the battery.

If you are going to leave it for an extended period then it may be worth while changing the oil first (if it has many kms from last change). Sludgy oil with contaminates and moisture can eat big end shells.

Being thats its only a Yota Mate, maybe wind down the windows and use it as a chook house LOL.. Only Jokin..
I run
mine a minimum of about 20k's a fortnight, all in the one run, so oil etc gets warm.

Thanks Guys some good ideas,When i had the Holden sitting around for 3 months (battery topped up 1 month later)...It ran great for 3 weeks and then it crapped out (batt) one cell was stuffed, also the cruise stopped working, now how does that happen from non use lol,it was a bracket apparently..Although battery was replaced under warranty...Never owned a Diesel before so hence the question...
cheers
