Todays Australian .....IT section ........ the Thuraya Smartphone distributed by Optus gets a 'glowing personal endorsement' for safe and effective outback communications, by a columnist who hasn't even tried it out there. Make of the article, what you will..... and my point relates to journalism and outback safety - I'm certainly not questioning satphone usage.

Make you wonder- however on the Optus system. I've used it in NW WA where other systems have let me down, and it worked just great.

Optus for satellite phone or for mobile phone? When we were in Kununurra, my old GSM mobile worked well, but people at the caravan park who were on Optus mobile had absolutely nil reception.

I'm guessing you mean the Globa$hit service??

My Iridium has worked perfectly when I was in that part of the world.

Pauline might ot have won a seat, but she is going to get heaps from the Telegraph. She must have a smile from ear to ear.

Hi Footy,

She is sueing them for the pictures they published. It was a con job by the man who sold them to the paper.

I do not agree with her ideas, but I think the paper stinks for what it did - publishing those photos with out checking their authenticity. I hope she really goes them hard.

Willie.

Oh you mean the Danish Appl,e Strudel from the 1970's ?
A blind man could see it wasn't her.

The Press can be irresponsible and arrogant. If you've ever had to deal with them you'll know what I mean.
