Suzuki Grand Vitara - 2" suspension lift

G'day,

We have a 2005 Suzuki Grand Vitara (current shape). Happy with the car but we are looking for a lift kit for it. I've been on the hunt for a couple of years and some kits are becoming available but only around the 30mm mark. It would be a great little unit with a touch more clearance.

I've tried all the usual suspects including big name chain suspension retailers, King Springs, Snake Racing, local 4wd specialist mechanics, Suzi Sport, ARB, etc etc. Even considered a kit from the US but it is crude (spring blocks) and I've read too many reports of clunky suspension noises developing with time.

No chance of body lifts to at least improve entry and departure as the chassis is a hybrid (box frame welded to the body for stiffness).

Has anyone seen/heard anything that might help me out?

Thanks in advance, Jimmy.

Thanks for the leadTrevor,

This looks very promisinng. As you probably know (included for the benefit of anyone else on a similar search) they appear to have a 40-50mm strut, spring and shocks kit for $1300. http://outdoorauto4x4.com/p/813659/new-grand-vitara-suspension-kit.html
Thanks again,

Jimmy,
I think you may have to settle for 30mm lift and increase your tire size to get another 25m, Try asking on "www.Auszookers"forum.

Thanks Dave.

I hope I don't have to settle for 30mm. I just replaced my tyres. I got 70k out of the last set - so it will be a while before I can go up a size. The site in Trevor's post above has promise.

Cheers,
Jimmy

Thanks Mick,

I had a look at the link and appears to only be for the previous models. I will contact Ironman again to confirm.

You can get just about anything for the 1988-2005 Vitaras. Based on past experience Suzuki might run the current shape for the next 15yrs as a cash cow - so the aftermarket accessories will eventually come.

Thanks for responding,

Jimmy
