Just about to upgrade my standard suspension and are considering both TJM XGS and ARB OME suspension. I'm only going with a 50mm lift and have heard loads about OME but nothing about XGS, can anyone comment if the TJM kit, is a good as the ARB system?

Thanks in advance.

Sorry the last line should read, 'is it as good as the ARB system?'

I had XGS on my GQ, and had no problems, its now on another GQ in Sydney and done the Cape, and center no problems.

I only Changed as i went higher to 6in lift.

I would go with it again.. If you have used OME before and are happy why change? They are that close.

If you have another option that's only going to cost around $1200 for springs and shocks, please comment. As your reasoning is a little vague.

Chris.

It depends on your vehicle? but there are heaps of places doing cheaper kits around Melbourne, I went into Ironman suspension in Springvale and they had some very appealing prices round $900 for kit with 50mm springs and long travel shocks with a steering damper apparently free. Noticed their ad in the local Journal, i guess they are cheaper because they make the stuff, eliminating the middle man. Other places like Ultimate, Enforcer, Tough Dog, I have heard are cheap too. ARB, TJM and Pedders would have to be the most expensive suppliers around, I just feel they are using you to pay for their glossy broshures.

About TJM XGS, I believe their shocks are made by Cofap in Brazil, not that thats a problem, but thats all I can give you on them.

Hope this helps.

Hey, I have fitted the TJM XGS full suspention to my 2002 Mitsubishi Challenger. I have taken it away to Frazer, double Island, and plently of heavy going off road inland destinations. I have been extremely happy with the performance, and it has given my vehicle the 40-50mm lift I was after. It has fantastic ride handling both on and off road, and would definatly look at in future vehicles. As for pedders products, to many problems. A few mates have had Arb ome and are only happy with the performance. Another name to look at are Rancho's 9000 adjustable shockies. depending on how hight you are looking at going, these could be an option. But the XGS are definatly the one one to go for over ARB.

I have XGS shocks on my 80 Series with 2" over Lovell springs and am very happy with them. Good travel and very compliant ride. I have blown one lhs front shock which was replaced without question. My vehicle leads a tuff life and averages over 50k per year. I carry many passengers so a smooth comfortable controlled ride is very important.Cairns Offroad Training & Tours
