Has anyone been on the C.S.R. recently (Durba and Savoury Creek area)? Would like to know track conditions and creek crossings, also has anyone been (lately) from
Jigalong across to
Cannings Cairn?

Jigalong to
Cannings Cairn is practically impassable at last report. I was on the Canning recently and report it to be in particularly bad condition compared to the past. I encourage all travellers to allow several days longer than expected, to go slow, to deflate tyres, and even to drag old tyres or similar behind you to smooth out the corrugations, as they are getting worse each year. We dragged tyres this year and it made quite a difference.
Savory was no problem.

Many thanks for your information. Was just wondering when you were last on the
Jigalong to
Cannings Cairn road? You also mentioned that the track was practically impassable, was this because it was overgrown, washed out or the Savoury Creek area had flooded? Any further info would be greatly appreciated.

I was there in 2008. I did not attempt the
Jigalong road from
Cannings Cairn but others who had told me i was very overgrown.
