Frys Hut & Sheepyard Flat

When I was last at Frys Hut in the 1980s' you could cross the Howqua river near Frys hut. This gave access to a road along the Northern side of the river which I think headed into Sheepyard Flat.This road was deliberately blocked by felled trees.
I think that there was also another road that headed up the
hill and onto the Howqua track.
I see on the Rooftop map that this later road is called Spring St. & runs through private property.
My questions.
Is Spring St. a public road?
Is the Howqua crossing at Frys open?

Was up there a few weeks ago but can only give you half an answer...
the crossing at Frys is closed.
We didn't drive from Sheepyard Flat around to Frys Hut as we were just 'caseing' Sheepyard Flat for future camping expeditions. While we were at the crossing near Frys Hut (we went for a look from the North side) there were a couple of vehicles parked near it. On a mud map I picked up at Sheepyard it shows that road going around. We thought about driving around but were already behind schedule so decided not to.
