Can someone point me in the right direction to an Engel dealer in
Brisbane with value for money. I am going down that way on 30/08/03 for a week. On a recent trip to
bathurst Bay (early August) my co-driver took along a 40l Engel for our use. It performed very
well over the trip.

Bros, not sure about dealers with value for money, but there are a couple of 60l Engels in the Trading post this week that sound like they are virtually brand new, might be worth checking out if your interested.

Have a look at Evakool made in
Brisbane www.evakool.com.au/downunder.shtml
We find they use less power because of better insulation
The last Engel I took in for repair they wanted $1040 to repair the compressor and some black magic voodoo box
The shearing team I
cook for has 3 Evakool
1 we use as freezer and 2 for fridges

I can do a 60L Engel new shipped to
Brisbane for 1439 including transit bag if interested. There is a bit of a price war on here at the moment.

Thanks Outnabout for that, certainly a fair bit cheaper especially with the cover. I will let you know of my decision.

is a 60 L exactly what you want Bros ?
I have one and I can tell you that it's a bloody mongrel to carry (how strong is the missus). I can't carry it loaded and only just manage it when empty on my own.
Outnabout has given you probably the best price I've ever seen. My wife (THE barter queen) paid $1500 for ours 3 years ago and we thought we got a good deal. Also had to buy a cover after that and now have just bought a fridge slide as I can't open the lid anymore with storage drawers fitted.
Would dearly love a 40 Litre instead but having said that we always manage to fill it. Have had plenty of offers to swap but have never taken them up so I guess I really am happy with it. Oh to be retired & wealthy !!!

Allyn (
Pilbara)
Thanks for your response Allyn. Practically everywhere i go camping/fishing/relaxing i go in company with other people so lifting is never a problem. Outnabout certainly has a good deal. I have not entirely made up my mind about an Engel, but making the proper decision will take time.
