Hi
We are looking at 2 to 3 days at Lake Eildon with a camper trailer in mid May, after the Darling River run and prior to coming back to Brisbane in a yet undecided route.
There are a few caravan parks to pick from, but personal recommendations are better than advertised spin, so, does anyone have knowledge of parks in the area?
Cheers
Ian
I'll get there someday, or die wanting to.

Gidday Ian

Try the Blue Gums cavavan park www.bluegums.com.au

It's on the Back Thorton Rd about 4kms from Eildon, and has access to the Goulburn river.

Regards

Kim

Could camp for nothing on the Howqua which is nearby and it shouldn't be crowded. Iteresting valley along the river. Fry's hut, mining tunnel, etc could even dash up to Bluff Hut for the great views

Hi Brushmarx, Being from Brisvegas you may be unaware that Eildon has VERY little water.

Lake Eildon is low but the pondage at the township is usually fairly full.
But in saying that there is heaps of water in Eildon for the recreational fisherman or water skier.

Jerusalem Creek is a nice inlet, only a little way from the Eildon township. Nice camp sites. Cheers.

Yes, the only caravan park to stay at is The Blue Gums Park on the back road. Have stayed there several times. Very nice clean amenities and good pleasant and helpful couple run the park.

Unfortunately nothing else in the area is worthy of any sort of recommendation. Too many permanents at the ones in township.

We have stayed at Blue gums - nice park - but we found they cleaned the amenities at 9:30 am over the Easter break we were there. (Who wants to be that organised on a break away?) Anyway - we have stayed several times at the eildon Caravan park on the pondage - it is I think a FPA park (Family Parks Australia) - lots of room for a camper trailer - big open areas - good amenities - and you can walk into town.
