Is anybody interested in forming a syndicate of sorts to get the best price on a new tent? I reckon if we were to get ten or so people together, we could get a damn good price per unit. I realise everybody will probably have different requirements for their tents but if all were to buy from the same supplier....
I am sold on a canvas tent and it looks like being the COI lightning extended. The cheapest I can find is $697 plus postage of around $50 or I can duck down to the local Camping and disposals store and pick one off the shelf for $750
The Darche version looks good too but is more expensive and the southern cross is way outta my price range.

A couple of websites in case anybody is interested
http://www.darche.com.au/ For the Darche canvas
http://www.darche.com.au/ For the COI canvas

If you are interested my email address is Jumankum@bigpond.com

Hi Robert
I have seen the Oz trail tourer for $399 but how did you find the quality compared to COI? I started to pull one out of its box but as soon as I saw the light duty floor I shoved it straight back in. The canvas was still pretty heavy duty but I suspect the stitching etc would not be as good. What is your opinion?
$ are a factor for me but so is the quality. To enable me to keep my head on my shoulders (scary wife) the tent MUST be waterproof and most importantly kepp the critters out!
Interested in your opinion
Jim

Ps How much to get the tent to the Gold Coast
