gday all

with all of the recent floods lately i was thinking how easy it would be to get in to strife. i came across this video of what looked like a dry creek bed and a causeway near Merriwa.

how easy would it be to be driving along and coming across this coming down stream?

anyway,enjoy.

I was thinking about the Coffs floods. They were considered 1 in 100 year floods and nearly as bad as the ones in late 1996. now that is only 12 1/2 years ago.
do you think they are considered 1 in 100 year floods as the 1996 ones were in last century and we shouldn't see floods like that in coffs for at least 91 years now?

Incredible Mark, and I remember seeing a sign somewhere up the Oodnadatta Track suggesting that if you want to camp in the creek, put a life jacket on over your pyjamas, because you could finish up in Lake Eyre.

When you see that video, you can see how easy it can happen.

Now, there's another thing to stack in the camp box, some life jackets!!!!!!!

Mark,
that footage is something special. I have never seen this happen to a coastal creek, in fact I have only seen this happen once and that was while I was crossing the Florance river in the Selwyn ranges south of Cloncurry.

Have a safe Easter
