Hey guys, i found an old archived thread that i couldnt reply to and make active so i thought i would create this new one.
Have any of you converter a FJ73 with the daggy old 3F engine to the 1HZ diesel?
What are peoples thoughts?
What has to be changed? ie trans, steering?
If any of you have done it, what was the involved cost? Including engine purchase and other things that you needed to do.
I have read that the 1HZ should bolt directly up to my existing auto with 2 plates as spaces as the crank on the 1HZ is slightly longer than that on the 3F.
If anyone knows any info please reply! Very interested in getting my baby fuel efficient, LOL! 300km/60L is getting a tad crazy! lol
cheers guys,
JB

I'm pretty sure that they came out with that motor overseas but they are rare in OZ

Your easiest option is to buy a writeoff/miner hzj75 and transplant the motor/box/fuel tank/wiring etc.....sell the leftovers and the project was for free....keep your large front diff. If you dont want to go that far, you will need hzj75 engine mounts/bellhousing plus all the wiring for the glow plugs/starting.....so many extras that will push up the price....
