I am going to take some fishing gear guys. If I get a chance might head down to the beach (with every other man and his dog) and see if I can round up some Salmon. Everyones more than welcome.

Het Matt,

I'm not a proficient fisherman so I'll hang round the campsite, under a tree, drink beer, eat chippies and timtams.

If it's not too much trouble, can I have the salmon steaks done on the barbie, lightly seasoned and with a touch of garlic and parsley sauce.
Oh! and a nice little, indiscrete Chardonnay would be nice.

Can see myself being tossed into the river.....hehehe.

Cheers.....Lionel.

Matt, guy I know was down at the Warren last weekend all they got was 1 salmon between 5 people. He said plenty of herring and whiting.

Still spewing that I can't come. Bugger Bugger damn damn.

We'll have to arrange another trip before you and Danica head off on your round Oz trip?

Mainey,

Probably some silver metals.

Have some frozen herring fillets that seem to work well off the beach.

Not really sure of the area but maybe down to warren river or somewhere down that way. Cant be more than an hour away and we can do a bit of a beach run at the same time. Just an idea.

Dont mind if I just get some herring.

See you all tomorrow

I usually grab some herring using prawns then use them as bait on the big rod as they dont get picked off the hook like pilchards.

unfortunatly here in WA the pros give the salmon a massive bashing - first thing i noticed moving from SA was the hit n miss salmon fishing

As an example in 2004 1200T of salmon were netted west of albany around this time of year and sold for less than 50c a kilo

Dunc,

See how we go, we have 30 days till we head to Indo for a month and when we get back from there we will be in town for a week or two then away. The house went on the market this week, for a 30 day period. If it sells it sells other wise we will rent it out. But for sure if we can organize something for mid June that would be good.

Your missing a good weekend mate.

Have fun.

Hey Matt,
I FINALLY had the Cruiser suspension upgraded yesterday. I now need a ladder to reach the side steps. It will be great to give it a tryout tomorrow. Haven't packed yet so it will be panic stations tonight.
We are looking forward to the trip.
See ya at sparrow f**t.

Great Steve,

Looking forward to it. Its an early start but its hell on the road already up here. Just drove from Dixon Rd in Rocky to Pt Kennedy Dve. Took me near on 15 minutes. Why do people drive like clowns on long weekends?

Well things were happening behind the scenes, I went up there today, Thursday, to check out some of the camp sites nominated to me.
All were packed out at 4pm Today.

The number of vehicles going into the two main camping area's at Nannup was non-stop, they went in then straight back out because they were full, they then obviously went looking for somewhere else.

In my opinion there will be no parking areas available there tomorrow, because there was none available today, so I've returned home @ 9pm tonight with the regret that I won't be part of the group spending the weekend in the bush.
I'm not sure if I should be posting this, but if someone asks me why I did not tell him there were no camping areas available for 9 vehicles and he had to drive down from Perth, yes it's my dilemma.
Hope those attending do find somewhere to stay and enjoy their Easter break as the other campers presently there will be doing too.

Had a feeling that may be the case.

Heading down from Northam in about an hour.
Its a big country, should be somewhere we can pitch a tent.

Maybe rethink and decide when we all hook up.

Cheers....Lionel.

At last report Bundy and the group were leaving Nannup and going south on the Vasse Highway to Peerabeelup, then turning left into Spencer road and going down to the Donnelly River.
At this point, 1pm, I've lost phone contact with them.
