Hi Andy,
Don't give it a second thought, I have travelled it plenty of times, vans even travel it.
The only trouble may be if you travel it just before it is graded, but then it is not all that bad,few patches, nothing to worry about, just take it steady.

Thanks to Gordan and Mark. Can you give me an idea of expected time required to travel from Alice to
Birdsville along the plenty. Have to be in
Birdsville on 12/03 and don't want to miss it.

Gordon is right, you will travel on worse roads than these comming from Port Headland.I've just come back from a trip across the Plenty it was a very good surface but deteriorates quickly after rain. the donohue is a better track with roadwork being done constantly. You will have no trouble at all.

contact Yollie at wirrilyerna@hotmail.com for station stay at Bouilia, we stayed 2nights last aug and had a wonderful time, we drove
boulia to alice in a day via the plenty and donahue with no problems, average speed 80kph in a patrol, we found the donahue to be in better cond than the plenty
