Hi Truckster, I have 2 of their tanks. A 145ltr main & 60ltr reserve.
I have had trouble with the corner seams on both of them leaking. Not to the point of dripping petrol, but there was always a wet patch. Now 1 of the tanks I had hit on the ground a couple of times, so I can accept that might have been my fault but the other was leaking as well with no damage from me.
I rang Brown Davis in Melb. on a number of occasions, & spoke to the guy and he asked me if I had hit the tanks on anything. Saying yes, His whole attitude changed & he wasn't interested in talking to me about the problem with the other tank.
I ended up getting a local engineering mob to repair the tanks. I couldnt be bothered arguing with these people about whose fault.
That was about 2yrs ago. I have had no further problems & I still hit the ground on the odd occasion. But no leak!!!!!!!!!
All I can say is that next time I am looking for long range tanks Brown Davis won't be an option.
Just out of interest has anyone else had a problem with seams leaking on these tanks.

pmkoff to googs track & gawler ranges................Sept hol's.

Yes I know of several from other lists that have had that problem in remote areas and all.

one was less than a week old, and he was in the bush, and stuck...

Seems like nothing has been learned with Brown Davis. Had the exact same problems with them 18 years ago. Surprized he is still in business.
