Hi,

Wondering if anyone can tell me if the nuvi 760 has a "breadcrumb trail" or track marking capability.

Thanks

Gezza,
Yes it has. It will mark a trail where you have been. It will also guide you back the where you left your car if on foot.

Very happy with mine, it is loaded with Garmin City Navigator and OZtopo V2.1. You just switch between maps depending if you are in town or the bush.

Garmin have also just released topo maps of Aus and I think it has auto routing capabilities!

Cheers

Steve

Yes it does.. Go to Menu then Tools then Settings then Map .. You should see Trip Log .. Tap that for show or hide. Comes up as a blue line telling you where you have been .... Hope that works for you and what you wanted to know

just looked at that on mine and it shows a tiny map of the last few 100 meters (yep - I know you can zoom out) but how do you tell it to take you back or even move the map back along the route you've travelled?

I think you have to have it on for it show history.. By that i mean if it is off then u turn it on it only shows since being turned on.. Then the only way to follow it as far as i know is by looking and moving the map along with your finger.. ie slide your finger across the screen.. I dont think you can set the breadcrumb trail as a route as such

I assume by on/off in this case you mean to display track on/off as power on/off doesn't get rid of the track. Had so many blue track lines on mine it became confusing after a few days...also lets the wife know where you have been. To the best of my knowledge your right that you can't set the reverse track as a route...you can only just turn around and follow the blue line. The garmin instruction manual is dam useless on this aspect.

Yep you can send them to your pc using mapsource or just delete them by clearing the trip log. I am pretty impressed with this unit. Have a look at doug and dusty's site for lots of info for this model.
