Hi All
We now live in
Darwin and wish to bring our boat from SA to the NT. Boat is 4.5m, so guess with motor and trailer 6m.
Anyone know a good company to deal with and what the cost might be?
Thanks
Lyndon

Lyndon, have you tried the train? Don't know the costs but it's got to be comparable, if not cheaper, than a truck I would have thought. Failing that, ask at one of the boat sales
places that sells boats made in SA & Vic.
Cheers
Louie

Not keen on the train unless it's
well covered up or in a container, why not ring Territory Marine or Boatland Winnellie to see who brings up there boats.

I've known ABC Trasport from when they only had 2 prime movers and did community runs around Alice. They're a good mob and I've used them for lots of smaller stuff. As for 6m of boat and trailer, if it was me I'd give 'em a call 1st.

I know this won't help you but, when I was in
Darwin in the early 80's we (the RAAF Ski club) bought a boat from Gilflite boats in
Melbourne. Bit of wrangling and it arrived in
Darwin in the back of a C130 ;-))

If you manage to find someone prepared to transport your boat, expect to pay top price SA - NT. Pity you weren't doing it the other way NT-SA as 'back loading' is generally quite a bit cheaper.
Check with N.T.F.S.
