Gday waynob,Just came down the Tanami about three weeks ago and Unleaded is avaliable all along ie-Tilmouth Roadhouse,
Yuendumu,Rabbit Flat and Billiluna.Average price was $1.50lt.At Billiluna there is a call out fee if you call in there after hours or on weekends($15.00) and Rabbit Flat is only open Friday to Monday.

waynob,I loved it but then again I loved all the offroad travels. The road cond. was pretty good, plenty of corragations but you could "get on top of them" and smooth them out(about 70-80kms in our 4-Runner).There were some soft sand sections, hard (base)rocky sections and plenty of dust, infact on all our trip this was the only section of road where dust got past the tailgate seal.(We travelled the Gulf road,
Cape York,Lakefield NP,Outback NSW,
Oodnadatta track to name a few)

Hi waynob,
According to
the Desert Tracks maps unleaded fuel is available at
Tobermorey, Jervois,
Atitjere and Gemtree. Phone numbers for these
places is on the Plenty Hwy map by Westprint (available from this site).
When are you looking to travel the Plenty Hwy. I am going in September.Just Do It!

There is fuel at Maryvale Station on the way into Chambers but you may want to ring for availablility of unleaded as it
services an Aboriginal Community and some have been trialling restrictions. The previous poster was correct about fuel on the Plenty. Most exspensive is Tobermory and Jervois. Fill to the gunnels in Alice and then top up at Gemtree and Jervios if you need to. Pub at Urandangie has foel too if you choose that direction.Regds

Thanks Bill, much appreciated.
I'll certainly make sure I don't have to purchase fuel at
Tobermorey.
Cheers
