I must be missing something. Why on Earth would you ditch a CTEK?

More than likely confusion between "SETEC" and "CTEK"

Kim,

Overpriced and over rated comes to mind.

Gidday Jim

I'd be interested to hear the reasons you say that. Their not cheap, I'll give you that. But it's a quality product, very reliable and does the job its designed for.

Kim,

No question they are excellent, but their primary purpose is to put charge into a battery. IMHO there are many other brands available that will do the same thing for a lot less money.

Cheers,

Jim.

Its all in the spelling or lack of.
There are SETEC as installed by some caravan makers
and CTEK as in the well known good one

Look at thread 67825

Zacc I have a CTEK 15 amp charger and 100 amp battery. I think it takes about 12 hrs to charge when the fridge cuts off at 11volts
Using the waeco 80 litre fridge and recharging simultaneously takes about 24 hrs.

The charger also has a feature which keeps the battery topped up if there is a drain on it and it works ok.

I got my Ctek from ebay for about $276
