I have just purchased a Warn M8000i winch second hand. It looks in very good condition and like its done little work.
What i would like to know is what i should do now before i put it in, to minamise any problems in the future.

Thanks in advance

I sent the company (Warn USA) an e-mail on the same subject (after buying a 2nd hand vehicle with the 8000 winch on it)

Their reply was that there are no user servicable parts on the winch and that it is a 'life of unit' type setup. i.e. there is never a need to do anything with them (cable maintenance and/or replacement excluded of course) unless it breaks down.

Must be different to the 9000 and 10,000.

They have gears and parts in them that you grease to start with...

If you get them wet (Submerge them) You should rip them apart and grease them.

Mail Colin Info@brawn4x4.com.au

He will tell you what you want to know, very good bloke.
