Does anybody out there know a rough price for a bullbar for a 04 GXL Turbo Diesel Prado. I have been quoted $2300 from Toyota for the Genuine Alloy bar, plus labour which could be up to 6 hours, maybe more @ $100/hr. There is no way i will be paying that, thats just murder. Does anybody know the price of an ARB one and also are they much heavier then the Alloy bar? Little worried about putting a steel bar on though cause of the cracking issues. Will be doing some fairly corrugated work so dont wanna have too much weight over the front. Thanks

Kroozer,
Have you had a look at hat TJM has to offer for the Prado?
It does have an alloy bar but as far as cost goes I don't know.

it doesnt take 6 hrs to fit. 2 max includes fitting winch. 2300 sounds about right. (winch only fitted to arb steel bar)

I payed around $950 fitted from ARB. I’ve had both the aluminium bar on a 2003 Prado, and a steel bar on the current 2007 model. The difference in weight isn’t noticeable.
Not sure where all these cracking stories are coming from. I’ve never had a problem......maybe an urban myth?
Both cars have had their fair share of corrugated roads and tracks, so I don't think you have too much to worry about.

Kim
