Hi all,

Still on my quest for the best trailer accommodation. Tvan was made I believe by the late Allan Mawson. Before his passing, I believe he was working on a bigger version of the Tvan, I saw it somewhere and it looks like a tvan but slightly longer, with side access? Does anybody know anything about these, what they are called, commercially available, reviews etc etc

Thanks all,

Broe

Thanks AJ but it isn't the Topaz. It isn't actually made by Track Trailer. It was designed by the Late Allan hence it's similarity in design to the Tvan.

Thanks anyway.

Hi Broe,

Allan Mawson developed the VistaRV, which is now available.

Hey this looks pretty good. I like the Tvan but always felt its a little claustraphobic. This crossover concept I reckon will have wide appeal to those who want a van to take in the real rough stuff but want someting more than a campertrailer.
Has anyone first hand experience with them - they appear to be a fairly new release.
I wonder how much they are..........

Price is somewhere around $50 000. I think there's a review on the campertrailers.org website.

Looks the goods Broe..... although my very first thought.... and only negative thought after perusing all the pics... was $50K is a lot to pay to sleep on the table........
I'd love to see one in the fleah so to speak... I was a big fan of the TVan, till I actually saw one! LOL...
Out of curiousity, have you looked at the Ultimate? A mate here in our club has one and I very much like the look of it! Bit too dear for still though....

Regards

Yeah, I was looking closely at the Xtrk as for 32k seems good value. Only thing is, you have to setup fully to use the kitchen.

Have a look at

http://www.ultimatecampers.com.au/news.asp?page=45

It is a hard decision when you are spending 30k.

Also, I agree with you in regards to sleeping on the table. I have looked at the TVan before and they aren't a bad unit. I hired one for a couple of days and it isn't as claustrophobic as one would expect.

Gotta agree 50 big ones and have to make /unmake the bed to sleep /sit ?? good looking non the less but requires a bit of a rethink internally before SWMBO would release the cheque book.
