I agree with Toonfish,
Little Desert has heaps of tracks with
campsite on the river (busy during holidays) or remote sites around the park.

Hi Eric,
The
Little Desert National Park is near Dimboola (past Horsham) in Western Victoria. The main
campground is on the Wimerra River. It has
toilets and showers and a 'beach' for swimming and paddling. You can buy the
Little Desert map from any map
shop. It has all the tracks as
well as info on the area. Also visit the Parks Victoria website and download the mud maps as
well as read some info on the Park. It is a good place for a 3 day visit with tracks criss crossing all over the place. It is a good introduction to sand driving and have very little chance of getting into trouble. The park also has resident emus and kangaroos.
Hope this helps.Just Do It!

Diamond,
The best thing about
Little Desert is that if you go all the way across and then head south a short way you reach
Naracoorte (great for kids) and then Penola/Coonawarra (great for wine loving adults). It is then a days drive back to Melb, or
Bendigo......I love it!
I have done
Little Desert in its entirety by myself, and the wine district just kept calling me.....Just Do It!
