Has anyone any advice on whats may happening to my petrol gauge, recently I have been filling the
tank and after driving off the gauge is showing only 3/4 full when it should register full, it also appears that the
tank isn't full as the mileage is down. I have tried slow filling and on a couple of occasions the
tank has gone to full on the gauge and remained there....ANY ADVICE

Hi.It definately sounds like the
tank is not filling completely. A possible cause is a problem with the breather hose.It could be restricted or blocked from age or it may have changed shape or position and have fuel inside it. Check that it is tubular looking(it hasn't flattened out) and that it has a slope from the top to the
tank with no looping.Regards,Bob.

Not a Tiida by any chance? Own one and hired several before buying. They definitely have a problem accross this model. The guage will move from full to three quarters in several K driving. I drive
mine from the trip meter but plan to take it up on the next service.
Kind regards

G'day Dave
If it's a Pajero, did it have the filler pipe recall done?

G'day Dave
It was only for diesels. I don't know what you have
If it is diesel these are the vin range
JMFLNV76W1J000007 - JMFLNV76W2J000337
JMFLNV78W2J000101 - JMFLNV78W3J000547
JMFLYV78W2J000101 - JMFLYV78W3J000825
Yours will have a sticker on the inside of the "A" pillar if it has been done

Mines a petrol, I've looked as best I can at the opening and cant see any breather pipe or anything that resembles it, it sounds that this may be the problem Hopefully someone who has a Pajero or knows of this problem knows what to look for. I don't like the idea of giving it to a mechanic for a search and find mission
The veh is running
well but I'm only getting about 600 ks to a
tank which from empty I'm managing to get about 70 to 80 litres max into the
tank, the manual says the
tank holds 90 litres.
