Can anyone tell me if the Scangauge11 will work on a 2004 GXL Prado T/D. I really like the sound of these things but have heard that they work on some Prados and not others.

Will probably consider getting an Engine watchdog or equivalent also, but if the Scangauge dont worh then might have to get some autometre gauges or something. I like to know whats going on when on long or remote trips. Fatory gauges just dont cut it in any vehicle i reckon.

Kroozer,

As far as I know the ScangaugeII only works on Prado models that are either 6 speed manual or 5 speed auto. Which would rule out your '04 T/D

As long as you have an OBD2 (Diagnostic Terminal) fitted you'll be sweet, check with your mechainic, dealer or Wooders (as suggested)....they are a very handy bit of gear!!!

Not entirely

I have had a scangauge for about 2 years now and whilst I have an OBD11 terminal the Dec 2004 Nissan that I have doesnt use a protocol that scangauge can read.

Evidently Nissan has developed its own computer language (certainly in my year patrol) which Scangauge doesnt read.

So whilst you may have the correct terminal it may not necessarily mean that your vehicle uses the right language for Scangauge

So for 2 years now my Scangauge has sat in the cupboard waiting for me to change to a different vehicle - poor thing :-)))

Kroozer,

Sorry mate but it wont work.

I have the same vehicle only in a GX and if you look at the following link Scanguage 11 you will see that the 04 Prado is not on the list of compatible vehicles.

Shame.

Cheers,

Cruiser

Kroozer,

No mate, I haven't fitted ay other gauges. I was hoping that the scanguage would work but according to the people at Scanguage and Wooders Garage they haven't developed it yet.

Cheers,

Cruiser
