Has anybody used these tents, and how do they go in the weather? I know that the Turbo is the way to go but we have very limited space in the Wrangler.

Can't comment on the tent Wrangler, but have had a Black Wolf pack pack for 9 years and it's as good as the day I bought it.
Centre pole Oztrail tent folds up flat 600mm sq and weighs next to nothing.

Is the turbo lite plus smaller when packed than the turbo??
We have a 300 lite plus. The pack is quite large but it is relatively light (17kgs) certainly compared to the canvas one.

If its light enough, and can get a roof rack set up being its the fibreglass top, it can go on there. How does your turbo lite perform, any cons?

The awning, if you could call it that, is a bit funny - dips in the centre and requires an extra pole to keep the water from pooling there. Unless perhaps I'm doing something wrong with setting it up (can't see any alternatives) ...
It will leak a little if the fly is not used. Possibly stop the leaks with seam sealer and keeping everything tight. Just had a few drips come in where the hooks are sewn in. We just use the fly all the time now.
Overall very happy.

There are many posts about these tents in the forum - do a search and have a read.

G'Day,

we have the 300 turbo, the lite is supposedly great but we thought the canvas be stronger n give better insulation in summer and winter, and we have not been dissapointed.

The front fly is a little odd in that it sits uipwards, but even in strong wind it holds securely.

No leaks, spacious, and cool in summer with great ventilation.

expensive to buy, but you get what you pay for, you wont see a black wolf caving in with strong wind like some of these hoop tents do.

Do a search on here, some great reports on them being the only thing left standing in a storm, whilst others are shredded.

270 lite plus here.

We love it and it is our tent of choice when we are not stopping for long.

If you buy one, unroll it carefully the first time and see how they rolled it up. It helps to work out how the plus bit goes back in.

Cheers

Pete
