howdy all , it's been a while since I posted...a lot has happened in the past 12 months. I am now a qualified Primary Teacher and working full time...our camper trailer has been sold, we have a couple of oz tents for off road stuff...but for cushy camping we have bought a family bunk van with ensuite..and it's very nice. We hope to take it to the Pyrenees gathering in Nov..not sure about St George Kev!

So now on the hunt for family friendly caravan park with large sites within a couple of hours of melbourne for great weekends away...any suggestions would be grand...

cheers

Lyn

Gidday Lyn

I'd recommend the Lakes Bushland Caravan Park in Nicholson or the Rawson caravan park, which is closer to Melbourne.

Regards

G'day Lyn, good to see the post, though no "hahahaha" that I was always accustomed to. With the cold yo better make sure of your winter woolies in the caravan.

Friends from Queensland last week found it cooold near Kiandra with frost inside their Karavan. They had never heard of Alpine Diesel so the fuel lines to the Webasto had frozen up. They were carrying an electric heater but at 5.30am, would you go out and start the gennie? Early start and gloves was the order of the day.

Hi Lyn,

There is a place called Breakaway Twin Rivers Caravan Park in Achron
its great on the goulburn river as well trout fishing and big sites unpowered, it also may help a revenue intake after the fires, hope you have a good time where ever you find.

G'day Lyn,

I'm a bit biased - but try the Stratford Caravan park or a bit further away, the Wonnangatta CP just out of Dargo - great spots to base yourself if you like the High Country.

Tim - Stratford.
