We are looking for free camping spots in WA south.

No hard 4x4 suitable for Forester with a small A Van in tow

Wow! That's a big ask.
The last time I went to WA... it was pretty big!
We found plenty of places to camp for free, but didn't make a list.

Why not get a copy of Camps 4 or Camps 5. Camps 5 has recently been released so you may pick up a copy of Camps 4 on the cheap

For WA and NT, the Jan Holland Priceless series are far more comprehensive than Camps Australia Wide. I got the set of three from the ExplorOz shop. Link as above.
