Just wanted to know how much gas is used by the hot water heater on vans?
leaving it on with
the pilot light on, against just lighting it when you need it, would there be much saving in gas over a week.
shane.

Hi. I have found that by just having
the pilot light on I get sufficient hot water to have a shower. With the main burner on they are a real gas gobbler. O 9kg bottle would run out in about five days.

We have a Truma 14L storage unit (gas only).
It has no pilot light. It lights electronically.
It claims to be 95% efficient on gas (1500W output).
Good product.
