I love thie niche occupied by this site but notice abundance of pop-ups advertising credit companies, cards, banks, and debt reduction companies? Am I missing something?

Join up and you are allowed to suppress the advertisements, if you want to.
I actually like looking at some of the ads, they have some nice goodies on them.

Don't suppose you thought that the adds on this site help keep it alive.

Hmmmm....one of the best online travel based sites in australia + a demographic keen to travel + harsh economic times in which banks are suffering = a willingness to spend advertising revenue on said site.
Yep as a media based business, I'd imagine that advertising is a, if not the, major income stream. Personally, I'd say thankyou financial institutions because whilst you are no doubt screwing me over on fees and rates you are also providing me,the skullmeister and thousands of others with one of the most informative, interesting and successful travel sites on the web.
Cheers and here's looking up your balanced visa, free cashback, 60 second response time. Thanx Banx!
