There's a place over Pemberton way (I think) or near there anyway and there are some big sand dunes that 4 x 4ers get out to now and then. I hear it's a great spot.

I just don't know where it is. I've seen in on the WA travel shows before but where is it???????

Cheers

That's the joint, Thanks George.

Have you been there...wondering what the tracks into the sandhills and onto the beach are like???

Thanks again.

Hi Andrew, Tracks are no problem and easy until you get to the sand dunes. Reduce tyre pressure down to around 16psi and you should be OK to get back up.
Alternatively, drive along the beach, cross Warren River, if not too high, and up the Callcup Hill track back to Pemberton. Good luck

Andrew

I am employed in the area and know the area pretty well, Yeagerup dunes is accessed from Ritter Road, drop your tyres down to about 14, the first sand hill is the hardest, very small but steep and normally chopped up, Takes about 30-40 minutes from the gravel road until you are on the beach.

Also to the south of Yeagerup is Warren Beach which you get to from callcup road, not many dunes mostly sand tracks through the forest, you will hit a downhill slope which has rubber mats at the bottom of this slope is were the sand dunes are encountered,

I have been as low as 8 psi to get up the hill from warren beach, usually after easter.

Even better to the south again is summertime track which leads to the beach (Marmallup)

It is possible but not recommended that you can drive all the way up the beach from Yeagerup to Summertime, The warren river eats 4wd's, I probably go there once a month for a rescue/recovery of an overdue tourist.

Well worth a trip, avoid easter and it is possible to have the beach to yourself

I think that second number plate says it all.

Have seen some nasty boggings getting to the beach and on the beach, and vehicles stuck crossing the Warren. Don't be fooled by the often shallow depth at the river mouth. The river sand can eats 4bees like there's no tomorrow.

The Summertime Track to the Warren is a nice run but be very mindful of the tides. On the last run we did we waited for low tide but still had wave wash over the track in places. Also passed a couple of boggings by people driving too close to the water's edge or driving between the water's edge and a large puddle in the high water mark area. People tend to forget that all that water has to drain and it's usually back towards the ocean thus making the patch of sand between like quick sand.
