Mrs. Al's post earlier got me wondering. Are any south ozzies or anyone for that matter going to
Blinman in the
Flinders ranges over the October long weekend for the
camp oven cooking competitions. I will be up there so who knows I might see someone I know. What about you Willem. We have so little time to enjoy our land

Hi David,
Don't think so.....have visitors arriving and have to be up there on 10th October. Sounds goos though......went to one of these things at
Surat in Queensland once. They also had a billy boiling competition. You got 2 matches, some twigs and a small amount of grass and a billy full of water. It was a windy day to boot but the winners got the billy to boil in under 7 minutes...I think.
Cheers,
Willie

Rick,
If you are thinking about entering then closing date for entries is Friday Sept 5th. $40 entry fee and you must
cook a meat dish on the Saturday and a Flour one on the Sunday.
Probably the best bet is to contact the
Blinman hotel ph 088648 4867 or email
blinman@senet.com.au
I willbe up there (not cooking) so I might catch up with you.We have so little time to enjoy our land
