We're new to all this, but are planning a 3-5 month trip next year.

Haven't decided between a pop-top style caravan e.g. Jayco Swan Outback or camper trailer e.g. Cub Regal Supamatic Offroad model.

I'm wondering how noisy a fridge is inside?
We're planning to travel over summer, so heat will also be an issue.

Thanks!

What sort of a Fridge. A compressor model will make a noise whereas an absorbtion one wont.

And if the Van/Camper you buy comes with an Engel Compressor Fridge which is powered by the "Swing Motor" you may have to turn it off at night so you can get some sleep, they are (or mine is) very noisy compared to a Danfoss compressor powered fridge.
It would be advisable to ask what type/brand the fridge is prior to purchase.

There must be a problem with your Engel, there would have to 5 or 6 in our group & none are noisy.
I have heard that if they are dropped something can move & cause noise.

Your right Shaker, just been to the local Engle repair shop. If the compressor gets moisture in it ,it will run noisy and for longer periods. Can be fixed.

The dometic will be completely quiet as the only moving part is the door.

Ive slept next to a waeco 50 and 80 and never lost a wink of sleep.
Most nights you can turn a compressor fridge down so low ,it only comes on once or twice an hour,if that

We have had two Jayco vans and the Dometec is very quiet, can you believe it I wish it did have a bit of noise or a light on the front so we know its working when using 12 & 240v. There is a small guage when using gas.
