Hi all,

I have a query regarding the Strong SRT 5005 STB. Is it still available retail, or has Strong released a later model?

A couple of years back, the 5005 received very good reports from those who owned them, hence my query.

Any suggestions regarding viable current alternatives (must have 12v capability) would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers

Hi Andy
We had at work the other day a situation where one of our customers was after a High Def Set Top Box for his camper. I rang our Strong reg, and they do produce a High Definition Set Top Box that works on 12/24/240 volts and sells for under $200. I am afraid that the model has escaped my mind, but yes they are still a current model.

Cheers

Stephen

Hi Andy,
we bought ours around 12 months ago from the local Caravan accessories shop - think it is a 'Coast to Coast' shop in Nowra NSW. Not sure whether it is the latest model though you could maybe check it out on the 'Coast to Coast' website.

Have just bought a Satellite setup from Accessantennas in Perth and got a Strong 4664 STB with it This is the one that allows you to record to a HDD
It comes with both a car plug and a 240-12 volt stepdown.

Was told buy the seller that Hidef isnt and probably wont be on satellite anyway so why buy a Hi def box.
I already have one at home and my van TV has a Hi def tuner anyway so didnt bother.

Gives a good picture with good colour definition possibly better than ordinary IMPARJA
