I am looking for opinions on what size alloy rim and tyre combo and
suspension kit to put into my new bt50 , was thinking of 16 x 7 rims with 245/70/16 all terrain tyres and a tjm 40mm lift , any help or thoughts and experience would be a great help

I'm running 31x10.5R15 tyres on my BT50. Have an Ironman 40mm lift.
Have had some problems with rubbing on the front mudflaps - nothing a bit of bending wouldn't fix.
Good luck.

How do you find the ironman kit as far as ride goes, also has the bigger tyres adversly affected the fuel economy or power??
Thanks
Pete

Hi Pete,
The Ironman kit has been great - I noticed an improvement in the ride straight away and given the
suspension a pretty good hammering on the
Canning Stock Route and
Kimberley last year. Still going strong, and the price and service with Ironman great.
There is a reduction in fuel ecomony with the larger tyres - approx. 1-2km/litre worse on average. Since I'm using the BT50 as my daily drive I've put the old tyres back on for the moment but I'll change back in a month when I head to the Simpson.
The tyres I'm running are Mickey Thompson FCII's with King rims (15x7). Got the 5 rims and four new tyres for around $1100 (put an old 31x10.5R15 on the fifth wheel for a spare). Really happy with the tyres & rims, and the truck!
Hope this helps - good luck with your BT.
Geoff
