hi
have a unusual problem when dropping down from 3rd
to 2nd. feels like gear stick stuck. but doesn't do it
all the time. can hear a slight noise when clutch is engaged.
if you pump the pedal seems better.

Could be syncro ring damage. Some Toyota gearboxes (& other brands for that matter) are quite problematic in this area.

Pumping the pedal to make it better sounds like a clutch master cyl or slave cyl.
Or it could be the clutch is just about worn out.

If there is a noise when the clutch pedal is depressed the most likely cause is the clutch release bearing.
I'd be taking it back to the firm that did the gearbox repair and get them to test drive it .
Dry input shaft splines ?? Was the spigot shaft bearing or bush replaced ??

Old mate
You have a clutch problem.
When it "locks" in third does the clutch feel lighter or softer ?
