Got a puncture going into Tennant Creek in one of the van tyres.

Okay I thought get out the rattle gun and away we go.

Woops one of the puzzle nuts that had been untouched for a year burred off.
Tried a long bar and even Stilsons and no go.

Off into town and into Bridgestone Tyres.

No prob the guy says where is it. 5 mins later we are off down to the van park and after a fair bit of trouble got it off. He took the other 3 off as well and we took the flat in and he fixed it

ALL FOR $25 Heres me expecting $50 -$60 at least.
Also gave me some spare nuts when I couldnt find my spares.

So the moral of the story is when in Tennant Creek patronise this business if you need tyre work done.

PS They enjoyed the stubbies for afternoon tea as well.

Also at the Battery Hill They put on a special tour for 4 of us as they dont usually do them on weekends.
As the guide had to come from home we were invited to go thru the museums free while we waited.
After a really informative tour by the ex miner we also got given free tea and coffee and a selection of postcards.

Cant speak highly enough of the friendly folk here.

If only the wind would stop. LOL

Graham, that wind is all the way over here on the east coast.
Coming your way next week.
Have taken all of that info on board mate, thanks for the heads up.

Wind is a pain in the butt but crowds arent too bad as long as u get up early and get where you are going before the rest of them.
No probs with getting into camps yet.

Wow what a coincidence these guys must just be the ducks guts for aussie old fashioned service.
When I went through tennant creek I stopped at the same place. it was aroung quarter to five and I wanted tyres moved front to back. It was way overdue because the tyre service in broken hill dikked me around. The guys had already packed up and were sitting around having a beer and once I noticed this I said to the guy I was going to ask for a rotation fr to r but I see your finished up, he wouldnt have a bar of it and got it straight in turned the air back on balanced and moved them charged me $20 and shouted me a beer. At the time I wrote to a couple of 4WD mags to get em a bit of publicity and I see they deserve every compliment they get they are obviously just consistently nice blokes.

We had excellent service in Halls Creek.

The woman running the show did all the hard yakka. Fast efficient and lots of good advice and info.

I just had a look on Google Maps and it looks deserted, but then the whole of HC looks like a ghost town. I hope it hasn't folded.Halls Creek Tyre Service
