2.8L TD GU Patrol Fault Codes

Does anyone have any idea how to read out the fault codes from the engine management module. I am assuming there is a plug where a test light or LED can be plugged in and the fault is indicated by a flashing light.

gday explporer.
ill have a look in my fault code book tomorow and see what i find.
normaly a case of conecting a couple of pins on ecu conector plug then reading the number of flashes and looking up fault code.—~‘¬‘¥•s’B

Thanks Diamond. I knew it was something like that. We live in Norseman and the nearest Nissan dealer is 200km away in Kalgoorlie. The local guys dont know how to do it and its a long drive for sometimes simple things.

I had the light come on the other day for water in the fuel filter. And I thought there was a separate light for this and it took a long time to check the thing that should have been done first!

bad news mate my book dosnt have patrol in it yet:-((.
i tried vacc tech department they couldnt help.
and of course our local nissan dealer wouldnt let me copy it.
