Hey Beezmilk,
I believe the offset of the rim is different. I cant remember which way it is but Landcruiser rims foul on something when fitted to the front of a Hilux.

Sorry I cant help more.

Hilux Ifs sunraysia rims are different offset to live axle etc.

Many Hilux rims are 15 inch. If your 80series is after the 1992 update then you'll have the bigger brakes and can't fit 15 inch.

As far as 16 inch rims go, it depends on what width you want. The Prado and IFS Hilux 16x6 rims have the correct offset and fit up perfectly. 16x7 Prado rims are also perfect.

For 16x8 you'll need flares - the factory 80series rims are best.

There are many offsets on the white spoke rims. You need to get the correct offset.

hi phil
my cruiser is the "97 , model with 16"rims, factory alloys id say but not sure if they 7"or 8" rims they are wearing 265/70/16 maxxis on the front and a couple of old BF Goodrich that are not wearing out quickly enough for me on the back... id like to get the same all round. The reason im asking about rims is I am thinking about having a camper trailer built and thinking i will match the tyre/rim sizes with my cruiser, wasnt sure whether to buy secong hand sunraysia rims or just buy a new set. regardless they will have to be 16" to match the cruiser. The new price local in dubbo is $140 each or can buy them on ebay delivered for $80 each. mmm tough decision...
thanks for the advice

Mick,
I'll assume you have an 80series and not a 75series or Prado. Toyota used 8" rims on the 80series and 7" rims on the Prados and they are interchangable.
Toyota also used 265/70 on the Prados and 275/70 on the 80series. I'm guessing you have a set of Prado alloys. Any chance of a photo or a link to a photo?

Beware of the cheap Sunraysias. There was some adverse publicity last year about Brazilian made ones that had thin 4mm steel and were cracking badly. If you buy the Speedy or ROH, you will be fine.

Almost any 16" x 6 stud rim fits an 80series LandCruiser.

sorry phil, yep the cruiser is an 80 series, i think the mags are standard cruiser alloys so i guess they must be 8" wide. thanks for the advice on the sunraysias, i dont want to end up with a cheap nasty set so will have to check that out. i can email you some pics to an email address if you have one,
