Hi,
I want to sell my NSW-registered car in NT (
Darwin) and have already a buyer.
We're both German and don't know what we'll have to do to transfer the Rego to the Northern Territory.
Has anybody done this before or can help us, how to do it and what we need?
The NSW Rego is valid till March 2010.
Thanks so much,
Peter

Hi Peter
It's not your problem - you are the seller.
It is the buyers responsibility to transfer the registration into his/her name or business (if company purchased).
They then go the the NT DPI with the appropriate paperwork
www.nt.gov.au/transport/mvr/registration/forms/r11.pdf
and
"A Compliance
Check is required for the ?rst time registration in the Northern Territory for all vehicles".
You don't need to do anything.
Best of luck!

Not quite that simple Campergirl.
To Transfer ownership of your vehicle you will need to provide MVR:
•completed (to be signed by both the buyer and seller) 'Notice of Disposal' portion of the registered vehicle certificate (note: the completed and signed 'Application to Transfer' should be given to the new owner); or
•completed (by both the buyer and seller) form R6 - Notice of Disposal; or
•a letter providing:
?the registration number and vehicle details;
?full name, date of birth, residential address and signature of the new owner(s);
?signature of the former owner(s);
?the date of sale or disposal, and the sale price.
