Nuvi 500 didn't come with Text to Speech? If you have one Garmin has just released a firmware update to add this in. Download webupdater from Garmin's website, connect up your Nuvi 500 and away you go.

Got it and already done it, the pronunciation is a laugh while driving though.. Try the comedy voices Dr Nightmare (no TTS though) is a crack up.. "You have arrived at your Ghaslty destination"

I cant beleive how accurate the POIs are, Ive used it to find ATMs, fuel, Pubs and even a bottle'o in an unfamiliar loaction.

You may be able to hack the TTS codes with this model. You can with the 760.
Instead of 'recalculating'
mine now says 'OK, have it your way' ;-}
