Hi All,
I have just purchased a Jayco camper trailer and it came with a TV and Saturn Omni 3000
TV Antenna. I had heard that they are supposed to be really good but the TV reception in suburban
Brisbane is less than ordinary. I looked up the Saturn website and it says they are supplied with a 12V lead and 240 volt adaptor to power the inbuilt amplifier. I can't see anywhere to plug in a power lead of any sort other than the lead that runs to the TV. Do I have an earlier model without the amplifier or am I missing something?

Hi Roger, i have one and my advice to you leave it in the shed they are useless .I spent a long time trying to get it right and couldn't only to be told by another person (who happened to be from
brisbane) i was in wa,he had the same problem. They don't work
well unless your in a boat.If you want another one ill sell ya
mine.
Good Luck.

They have an amplifier similar to a Wineguard and it powers it via the RF cable which is also the one which goes from the amp tp the TV..
The Wineguard one has the power inside the wall at the rear of it and presumably the Saturn is the same.
I just hooked
mine up to the Wineguard wires and it worked.
It is also directional so you need to turn it so that is at right angles to MT Cootha.
The advantage with them is that they also have vertical polarity so should work in
places like
Erldunda and other
places that have vertical polarity.
I left
mine at
home and have bought a satellite system.
Works anywhere and gets all free to air channels except 10 which is not on satellite.
Cheers.

I have checked at the socket on the outside of the camper and there is no voltage there. Perhaps the amplifier has not been installed???
I thought "Omni" was supposed to mean that it isn't directional and should work whichever way it is pointed.
I will ring the supplier and find out what and where I should be looking for the amp.

roger80,
I have a through wall internal-external tv cable connector similar to the one shown on this link
internal -external tv cable connector
On the inside of van the saturn amplifier is attached (little black box)where the connector comes through .
You are correct the saturn can be turned in any direction and will find the tv station.
The thing that persuaded me to buy one was the test was done inside a brick building at the
Gold Coast with roof insulation and it still showed heaps of channels .
When I got home I reset the channels and even more appeared.
To show the capabilities for a friend I shifted the antennae in all directons without losing picture or quality.

True but I think in this instance it means both horizontal and vertical polarity..
The only tv aerial I know of that is a 360deg is a marine one which is like a flat flyiing saucer.
Evrything else needs to be pointed at the transmitting source.
