Greetings,
just off the road Lithgow/Mudgee in NSW is a gorgeous spot: Lake Windamere. The lake was created by damming the Cudgegong River. It is stocked with fish and got a high reputation among anglers. The setting is forgotten rural amid rolling slopes. There is a camping place offering all amenities.
Though easily accessible and only a minute off the main road the spot has kept its character of seclusion. Among the many paradises on my list Lake Windamere ranks pretty high.
(Have uploaded a short clip of it in the video section of my website)

The caretaker lady is one of the rudest people I have come accross. The fishing is great, when the lake is not covered with blue green algae.

Hi Klaus,
did you know we have a facility for people to post info of this nature? If you'd like to get this info into the public database ( you can even uplaod your photos etc and write a review etc) please go to Places. Run a search first to see if there is a waypoint already listed and if so, just click on the Update Place button and away you go. If you don't find we have a listing, you can create a new one but you need the exact waypoint reference. any issues, simply send damian@exploroz.com an email - he's the Places wiz kid!

My thanks to both of you for the info. Shall look into it - am a bit hazy about the 'waypoint reference' (how do I tell my ancient brain???).
My compliments if you two have anything to do with the running of this site - it's very well done.
Greetings - Klaus and Rusty

Waypoint is just a fancy modern name for a coordinate (ie. a lat and long position). If you are interested to learn a bit more we have a very helpful article that covers the basics - see Using Digital Maps & Software

and, ah, yes, David and myself own and operate ExplorOz along with our small team of staff. You can find out who are the people behind the site from our About Us page.

anyway, enjoy!

Hi MM and DM - here come the roses: you are very clever, and so are your helpers. I admire the concept of your website, the way it is run and its success.

Thanks for your message. Know all about coordinates. Went to ‘Places’. Shall occasionally add something there.

Your website makes me quite envious. My own site is new. I run it by myself, no outside help. It’s rather exciting slowly cutting through all the noise on the web. My cards and clips are becoming very popular. Now I am working on schools to accept me. Seems they do.
However, I get frustrated spending all the time in front of the computer. Instead, I’d rather be in the outback, produce more content, do more research. Should you know of a party interested in swallowing my site and freeing me from running it - please let me know.

And please let me also know: when going to Exploroz, an envelop is blinking and a note tells me ‘you have received a new Member Message’. But there never is one. The last one visible stems from February. There have been several since which I have read and answered - but they have disappeared. Where did they go to?? And where do the new ones hide?
Thanks for telling me - Klaus and Rusty

Hi Klaus -
Regarding the MM issue - I have just sent you a message - please open it - this will flush out the glitch.

In regards to storage of msg - they auto-delete 2 days after you've opened them. There is no storage or file system in MM but if you want to keep your messages, there is an EMAIL TO ME button which you can click to send a copy of the msg to your own email account.

Hope that helps?

BTW - love your website, very interesting well done but join the club feeling frustrated working in front of a computer - we much rather be out exploring to :-)
