Would anyone know the max size alloy tipper tray that you can fit to a current model Toyota Hilux 4x4 Petrol Extra Cab ute pick up. Also can anyone recommend what brand of tipper and tray and rough idea of cost.

Hi Mark,
I have an 01 extra cab... (styleside not tray) and every time I go to the dump I envy the blokes with tipper trays.
From memory the "genuine" toyota trays are 185cm long on an x cab..
as for how long you can go... depends on how much you're willing to sacrifice your departure angle i guess (unless you also want to look at moving your rear axle further back - this has other implications)
cheers,
KG

The maximum length you are alowed by law is half your wheel base behind the axle, This is plenty on a hilux as you will have handling ploblems if you go out that far so its up to you to decide on the balance between load space and drivability. Eric.
