I have a Garmin Nuvi 265 wt and wander if anyone has been able to get there Nuvi to communicate with moving map software on a laptop.
I also have a Garmin C320 and it works fine with the software on my laptop.

as far as I am aware the street navigators dont do NMEA out which is needed to run moving map

I have the 250 and would love it if it did - it locks on and holds satilites much quicker than my garmin Etrex

These are receivers only and dont output a usable signal.

Garmin C320 does not do NMEA, therefore cannot run mapping software on a Laptop as a moving map, and City Navigator and Base Map do not recieve from GPS units that do have NMEA,

The Garmin C320 does work with the moving map software I have so therefore it must do NMEA I've used it often with nroute and now with Google earth, the beta version I downloaded last night connects with the C320 and you can have a moving map with Google earth.

I thought all the Streetpilots send NMEA

I have a Manual for the unit, No where does it mention NMEA, I then Checked the index of the 276C , NMEA is shown, your GPS does not have NMEA,

Its alright 1/2A - I believe you even if DTNT doesnt.
A quick search of the internet shows that you are not the only one that has used a C320 with nRoute. e.g.
"The Garmin c320 is a basic Car Navigation Unit .......The stand alone unit provides Speech Turn by Turn Directions and when hooked up to a Laptop using ... nRoute allows Route planning LIVE MAPPING etc."
A quick read of various links suggests some streetpilot models work with moving map programs and some dont. I dont think any are designed for this purpose which may explain why its not documented in the user manual.
Cheers

Thanks Greg I know the C320 works because I've used it with moving maps for years now, I just questioning whether the Navi would work on moving maps. It's not a real issue it only means I'll take two Garmins with me when we go away.

I have a Nuvi 760. Although it doesn't have the output for moving map I can download and upload the track to it once driven.

I dont know about the 250, but the lead for the 760 is a standard USB lead for doing the download- upload. You will need the latest version of Ozi to give the Nuvi dropdown option for connecting the GPS.
