Bob of KAOS
I just downloaded a cheap 5" navigator from ebay. Cost was $150 delivered. I had OziExplorer CE on an SD card with the Hema maps so I just plugged it in and it works.

The Street Navigator that it comes with is a demo version only. They supply a DVD with maps for the whole world.
The screen is 5" compared to 4.3" for the Mio Moov 300 and it is appreciably easier to see. It was easy to install OziCE, unlike the Mio which requires the installation of the MioPocket operating system first.
It has BlueTooth and an FM transmitter. GPS is Sirf III.
If you already have Ozi CE and some maps it might be the way to go.
5" GPS

There are other one's available on ebay with a rear camera as
well as fully functioning street navigation. (Normally Ozi sellers)
This one has a camera as an option. There are also others that have an external GPS antenna plug & speak street names.

Navigator 1
Some maps, like the Hema set are ready to use with CE. There is a programme on the Ozi site for converting ECW maps to the correct format for use with CE

Hi
The current version of OziCe can use ECW, jpg, png and bmp formats besides OZF2 and OZF3. ECW format does however require the unit to have an ARM type processor, not sure about the unit in question so conversion may be necessary.
Cheers

It looks almost identical.
The processor speeds are slightly different.
Click the link I put in and see if you can pick the difference.
Delivery took a week.

Thanks Bob - How does the price compare with what you paid? At least with yours, we now know it takes Ozie. I have to get mapping software for what ever i end up with, so for now will stick with my antiquated Magellan. Meanwhile, i Will continue to accost other travellers about what GPS they are using, so i can see them working to compare.
Dealextreme are not so quick, as they keep prices low by ordering in the product from their suppliers after an order is submitted.
