Does anyone know if there is a product for putting in water tanks, like caravan tanks, when you don't use them much???
ie...the van sits around for 12 months then you go on a trip. Is there a product to go into the water tanks to clean them out/taste better or something like that.
If so, is it a must to attack the 'goblins' or what???
cheers
Andrew

Andrew,
I use Puritabs, get them from any chemist, the instructions are on the box. This works for me, when i've put them in i got to the shopping centre and drive over some spped bumps to stir things up, then I drain it down and refill.Keep the shiny side up

To clean and sterilize the tank you could also try Brewers sterilizer Phone 08 93702484
Perth WA .
Home brewers use it to sterilize the bottles/containers. 250 grams, cheap , works good (sodium metabisulphite). A few drops of Micropur in the tank with the water then kills any nastys (
Ranger camping)

HI Andrew,
I use a product called, EZ-RV
Drinking water freshener. Just add 1/2 ounce (2 tablespoons full) to the average tank when filling (40ltr). The action of the contents when travelling will do the job. This freshens the water for drinking without rinsing. However I always flush the tank first before adding this product then fill to the top. However the instructions say that this is not required. It is available from most caravan acc outlets and works out cheaper than puratabs.
