Can anybody tell me if the GQ & 2000 model GU front axles are the same? I want to fit the GQ manual locking hubs so as I can get rid of the automatic ones , I know the axle spline is the same but not sure if the manual locking arrangement will fit.
Thanks

I'm not sure if the axles are the same but I believe changing from auto to manual hubs is a relatively simple job. The manual GQ hubs will fit on a GU.
Someone on patrol4x4.com sells all you need to do the conversion (including manual hubs) for $250.
If you want to do it the cheap way, you can dismantle the auto hub and take the "auto" bit out(ring with teeth on it). Then the Auto position will be just like free wheeling hubs, although you will have to use the wheel brace to change it to lock (all info is on patrol4x4.com).

Thanks for your reply, I have been able to source some hubs locally for $200 a pair they look in really good condition. A lot cleaner than the ebay ones.
Cheers
