Hi there,
Just received the EGT and Boost gauges for the Patrol but won't have time to fit them as we are driving down to Brisbane tomorrow for the caravan & camping show next week.
We have 4 days accommodation booked near the RNA showgrounds.
Can any Brisbane members recommend a nearby business that could install the gauges or at least remove the dump and intercooler pipes and weld the adaptors on.
Thanks
Les

That's a bloody long way away from the RNA showgrounds. I was going to suggest motorcare but i think maybe they just do internet sales now and no mechanical stuff, someone may care to correct me.

Closer is autobrakes in West End just over the river, Mark Svenson is the mechanic and owner and he does a lot of 4wd stuff and owns the business, he gets all mine. I ride past on my bicycle every day and he's always got troopies and patrols up on hoists.

Ring first of course to see if he'll do it. Say you were referred by me, Paul O'Kane.

77 Jane St,
West End, QLD 4101 Phone:(07) 3844 1666 Fax:(07) 3844 3142

He's welded my football clubs goals back together and didn't charge if that's a reference as to character.

I should qualify, I wouldn't regard him as a turbo expert, he might but I don't know it, so if its just the mechanical stuff you want rather than perhaps the boost setting etc then he's an option a lot closer than slacks creek.

Try Motorcare, Richard does mechanical as well, excellent service and reasonably priced too. He is at 163 Abbotsford Rd Bowen Hills. Ph:32524039

if Motorcare is open to mechancal stuff he is literally around the corner from where you are likely to be staying.

Rob Bliss Exhaust at Robinson Rd Geebung, good for the Exhaust work, just down the road is Tony Powell hose supplies and you can get all couplings to do the boost gauge yourself, by the time the exhaust is done, you could nearly have the boost gauge in.

If you prefer to pay someone to get their hands dirty on your behalf then I could reccomend the mechanic I use at Nudgee (Nudgee Automotive, Gary is your contact.) but this may be a bit far from the showgrounds for you? I don't know. You could always MM me if you want more info, I am on the nth side and handy to industrial area with everything at my doorstep.

Cheers, Trevor.

Les

I would check out Mike Vine Turbochargers at Capalaba. (google it).

He could then check your setup at the same time.

Never used him. just know he is an expert in Brisbane.

If you see two old guys that look the same at the show, it'll be me and my twin brother. I'm catching the train down next Thursday. ;-)

You have given me plenty of leads there thanks, I will be on the phone Mon morning.

Malcolm, will probably miss you there we are planning on going Wed and Thurs to try and beat the crowds.

We were hoping to see a vistaRv but they won't be exhibiting due the expense. We might have to go down south as far as Newcastle brrr. In Mackay tonite.
