I've been looking at this site for some years and finally have got around to joining . Tomorrow, I finish up work after 38 years in the printing industry, (10 years in this company) and on Monday 1st June my wife and I leave
Adelaide and travel up to
Brisbane for the Qld caravan show. There, we will be having a look at
off road caravans (almost time to trade up from the camper trailer), and then start the "
Grey Nomad" time of our life. We are hoping to pick up some casual work at various times to supplement our travels. It doesn't really matter what we do.

Good on yer!! & welcome as a member, it is a good site, although there are a few too many cane toad members to deal with at times!! If you are heading to the "Sunny State" as stated then you would be
well advised to take your own portable lighting, they are a bit behind the times up that way!!
Enjoy your
grey nomad experience & keep us posted on how you are going etc. have a safe & no doubt
well earned rest. Cheers

G'day Grahame (and Stephen),
Yes I'm another crow eater too who, coincidently, is about to finish up after 38.5 years with the NAB......
Sadly I won't be able to retire as I only met the love of my life about 14 years ago and we have 3
young lads still at school; the youngest only 8! So, my days of long distance travel will have to wait another 10 years or so and I'll be looking for alternative employment in the meantime.
I hope you will enjoy your travels. If you find yourself up this way (Kadina), let me know.....
Cheers
Roachie

Hi Roachie,
All the best with what ever you get. It would be a big decision to make with the bank, but with your experience, it will not be long before you are back in the work force.
All the Best
Stephen

G'day Roachie, I recently left the employer of over 21 years but just yesterday saw the banker you and I both know, who asked if I had spoken with you lately. Neil looks like the bank is feeding him anyway.
Stephen, look for a couple of
Kimberley Karavans around
Clare in about three weeks. Will have been up to see the filling Lake Eyre to your North. We will be keeping company of some
Sydney sider EO members who we travelled with before. You never know we may get to Kadina too.
Graeme, it is a pretty good fraternity. Enjoy it and welcome.

Hi
John
Have a great trip up to Lake Eyre. There are lots of vehicles passing through
Clare heading north, and those that I have been speaking with are all head to Lake Eyre. Just behind the Main Street there is a very large car park, for coaches and caravans. When walking to and from works I always
check all the four wheel drives for EO Stickers.
I work in the Retravision Store, so if you are in the Main Street, we are right next to the
Post Office.
Have a Great Trip.
Cheers
Stephen

John R, You'll be more than welcome here (as you should already know anyway... hahaha), so don't be a stranger.....
Stephen L, I've gotta work in
Clare for a few days next week so will make a point of dropping in and saying g'day......
My job has been made redundant here (but I was going to take an early retirement anyway)..... I only joined the NAB in 1970 as a temporary "fill-in" until I found a real job... hahahaha....now it's time to get real !!

thank you all for your kind thoughts and best wishes - I'm sorry to hear that you have been made redundant Roachie. I think that I am leaving work at the right time, as only on Monday the company I worked for laid off 3 people. I guess it is a
sign of the times but nevertheless it is a worry for those with a
young family.

Stephen we are programmed to be in
Clare two nights, but the night before Roachie, we are listed as Portorgutta, but it could nearly as easily be on the
Yorke. I don't know your back yard could take a Kupla Karavans

G,
Welcome aboard. It's a great site, great information.
Here we see turnover, as some leave others join to replace them. Much like life.
I've been here for six years and never get sick of the place. It is without doubt my favourite website.
Cheers,
Jim.

Welcome to the
Grey Nomad training school lol lol, so you spent 38 years in the printing industry, should have been able to perfect the printing of $100 Notes in that time lol lol, enough to buy a new Caravan ect.
Cheers
