Telstra Prepaid SIM with Iridium

In a recent thread, a poster said that he thought that some Telstra Prepaid NextG SIMs work in a 9505 etc.
I know that postpaid NextG will work but has anyone sucessfully used a Telstra Prepaid SIM on Iridium? ( apart from 112/000 calls) If so do you know what makes it work or not work?

My wifes TELSTRA PREPAID DEFINITELY DOESNT work in
mine

This was coverered in previous posts. The reason the prepaids don't work (apparently apart from some cards and 112 number), is that when you make a call Iridium times it and bills Telstra for the call. Iridium have no way of knowing when you're over your prepaid limit, and this no way or recouping costs from Telstra.

Footloose, I realise that is the conventional wisdom but a poster claimed it will work for some cards, I can't find that post now and would love to know if it can be made to work. The reason you state re not being able to
check if the card is over the limit would also surely apply to all calls made from overseas, and they work. How do other overseas carriers know if you are over the limit?

" a poster claimed it will work for some cards"...actually he was replying to me at the time, and I queried it. He said that you could call 112 using a prepaid card.
As for the pre paid overseas, yes they can determine if the card is over the limit. but apparently Iridium can't or won't.
If you can find a pre paid card that works please let me know :)))
